YSRCP clean sweeps in Pulivendula
84 Percent GPs in Kuppam also bagged by YSRCP
The ruling YSRCP has gained cent percent of Gramapanchayatis in its bastion Pulivendula constituency of YSR Kadapa district. It’s the own constituency for later Chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy and the present CM YS Jagan too. So the party has recorded unbeatable record by winning all the GPs in the constituency.
The Pulivendula constituency has 109 Gramapanchayatis and around 90 GPs were elected unanimously and rest of the 18 went for elections and gained by the supporters of YSRC only. Election could not be held for one panchayat namely Velamavaripalle in Vempalli mandal. The constituency has seven mandals -- Pulivendula, Vemula, Lingala, Simhadripuram, Thoduru, Chakraypeta and Vempalli. There were six gram panchayats in Pulivendulamandal, of which five saw unanimous elections. Elections were held for one panchayat, which was bagged by a YSRC supporter. In Vemula, 13 out of the total 16 gram panchayats saw unanimous elections while polling was held for three GPs. YSRC supporters bagged all the three. There were 15 gram panchayats in Thondur and 16 in Chakrayapet, which saw unanimous elections. In Simhadripuram, out of 20 panchayats, 12 saw unanimous elections while polls were held for eight panchayats, all of which were won by YSRC supporters. In Vempalli, out of the 17-gram panchayats, 16 preferred unanimous elections and one panchayat did not have election.
Interestingly the YSRCP candidates have shown extraordinary performance and gained around 84 percent of GPs in Kuppam constituency in Chittoor. Kuppam is the home town for N.Chandrababu Naidu, from where he has been winning for the past thirty years to AP assembly. Out of 89 GPs in Kuppam, the YSRCP supporters have won 75 Panchayatis and TDP could retain only 14 Gramapanchayatis. But not even a single TDP sympathizer or supporter could gain in Pulivendula constituency. Political analysts believe that abundant welfare schemes delivered by the AP government under the leadership of YS Jagan have fetched these extraordinary results in Gramapanchayati elections.
