Where have Naidu’s Lockdown violations gone?

Lockdown is being implemented across the country. The fourth phase of the lockdown is almost coming to end in the next two days.

The Centre and the State governments have imposed several strict rules, laid a set of conditions for the people to follow during the lockdown. Those who fail to follow are considered violators and are punished accordingly. However, there are some relaxations to these norms, particularly under medical emergency and essential services category.

The AP High Court had served notices to five of the YSR Congress MLAs who seem to have failed to follow these lockdown rules even though they were serving the people during these critical days. They were caught on cameras distributing vegetables and other essentials to the people during lockdown. Since they were seen in groups, which is violation of the lockdown, the court had served notices to them.

But, the court and surprisingly the media in AP, are silent to the violations of lockdown norms by former chief minister and opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu and his son and former minister Nara Lokesh. Though a permission to travel from Hyderabad to Undavalli was issued by the State police while laying the lockdown conditions, neither of them have adhered to those conditions.

The father and the son reached Undavalli from Hyderabad in a massive procession, a clear violation of the lockdown norm. There are photographs and video clips to prove this violation. As per the lockdown norms, after reaching Undavalli home, they were expected to be in home quarantine for at least seven days. Shockingly, both the father and the son have violated this norm too and have conducted the party meeting at Mangalagiri for two days.
There is also a ban on political meetings during the lockdown and this ban order too was ignored.

Violation of lockdown norms by organising a procession from Hyderabad to Undavalli, violation of home quarantine norm by going out of home and violation of ban on political meetings are to be considered against both father and son. But no agency in the state seems to be serious on these violations. There is no talk and no action.
The TDP which made hue and cry about the YSR Congress MLAs “violation” of lockdown, is maintaining absolute silence on the violation by Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh!.
