First time in the history of Telugu Desam party, it has organized its annual convention virtually and its kickstarted on Wednesday.

Around 14000 party workers including MLAs, former MLAs, MPs and polite bureau members have participated in the meeting from their homes and where ever they feel convenient. Due to the Corona caused lockdown has forced the TDP to conduct the annual day in this virtual way. President of the party, N. Chandrababu Naidu addressing participants through Zoom video conferencing dais and targeted the Chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy for his unprofessional governance for the past one year. On the day one, Naidu has hoisted the party flag at its office Mangalagiri and later spoke to the leaders, cadre through the zoon app. The cadre from all over Andhrapradesh, including the supporters in abroad also attended the conclave.

Later the leaders of the party said that they became the first political party in the country to use technology on such a scale to hold the conference with such a large participation of party leaders and workers. Leaders like Kala Venkata Rao, and some other polite bureau members have personally attended the program at head quarters and rest of the leaders have participated from their homes.

Actually the Mahanadu would have been held for three days but this year, its confined for two days due to lockdown. The party didn’t organize the Mahanadu in 2019 due to bitter result faced in the general elections and this time, due to lockdown they cant organize it in a big way. Chandrababu Naidu, while speaking said ‘ I have faced the toughest time in the past one year in my entire political career. He alleged that democracy is in danger in the state due to rule of anarchy. He appealed the cadre to strengthen the party organization and continue the struggle for the party's ideals.

Naidu claimed that the TDP's struggle in Andhra Pradesh is to save democracy. He said many TDP leaders and activists have sacrificed in this struggle during the last one year. "Many laid down their lives while others were implicated in false cases. They suffered physically, mentally and financially. Their sacrifices will not go in vain," he said.
Naidu said that the TDP is on behalf of public, whether its in ruling or in opposition. Naidu also lambasted the YSRCP government for dumping Amaravati as the state capital though the TDP government had developed it as a brand and attracted the world's attention. He said the Jagan government pushed the state into problems by "killing Amaravati" and mooting the idea of three capitals.
