States Can't deny to follow the acts, laws made by union government.
Senior congress leader, constitutional expert Kapil Sibal stated that the state government in the nation can't deny to follow the laws made my the union government. He stated that all the states should follow the laws made by the center. Recently the Kerala government has denied to follow CAA and lodged a petition with supreme court. Referring that instance, Sibal stated in Kozhikode
it would be "difficult for any state government to say that 'I will not follow a law passed by parliament'".
"The states are sending a message to the central government that they are unhappy with the citizenship law, the National Register of Citizens and the National Population Register. But the NRC is based on National Population Register and that has to be implemented by a local registrar, who is appointed by state-level officers." Constitutionally, it would be difficult for any government to say that 'I will not follow a law passed by parliament'," he said.
