Naidu wants lockdown to go on
The TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu had asked the Central government to extend the lockdown. He made the party politburo members to support his idea as he held the meeting through video conference from his Hyderabad residence on Thursday.
The TDP chief is almost in isolation at his home. But he is spending considerable time with the media, be in person with limited and selective presence or through video conference. He is also writing letters to chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy and even the State Election Commissioner.
Chandrababu Naidu, who is used to spend hours together in review meetings with the officials in the last five years, seems to be uncomfortable to stay idle and that’s is perhaps the reason for him to hold these conferences.
On lockdown, the TDP chief’s decision comes after Telangana chief minister Chandrasekhar Rao requesting the Prime Minister to extend the lockdown in the light of increasing positive cases. While AP chief minister did not respond to the issue yet and the Prime Minister is yet to take a call on the issue, Chandrababu Naidu grabbed the gab to write the letter. If the lockdown is extended, the TDP chief can claim the credit.
Chandrababu Naidu is the leader who looks for opportunities in the crisis and corona virus is one such for him to carve some space for him in the media. He leaves no issue and no occasion to get his due share in the media and the letter is to be seen one such attempt.
Unfortunately for him, neither the Prime Minister nor the AP chief minister are seeking his advises to handle the crisis, which bothers and pains him more than the virus to the humanity.
