‘Jagananna Vidya Kanuka’ to be launched tomorrow
42.34 Lakhs of students would get school kits
As a part of launching of series of welfare schemes, the AP government is going to kick start another program for the benefit of school children. The Chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is going to launch ‘Jagananna Vidya Kanuka’ scheme to the students, who go to government and zilla parishad schools from class 1 to 10.
As part of the scheme, education kits will be disbursed to students. This scheme would be benifited to around 42.34 lakhs of students in Andhrapradesh.
The kits would comprise three pairs of school uniform, a pair of shoes, two pairs of socks, text books and note books, a school belt and a school bag. The initiative, first of its kind in the country and the motive behind the scheme is to encourage the students to come to school and to increase education standards and literacy in the state and to reduce school dropouts. The budget for the scheme is Rs.650 crores. The chief minister will formally inaugurate the scheme at the ZillaParishad School of Punadipadu in Krishna district. ‘JaganannaGorumudda’ a nutritious food distribution scheme at Anganwadis and ‘Amma-Vodi’, a financial assistance to the parents of the children. ‘Nadu-Nedu’ an innovative scheme which would change the entire face of the government schools and the age old buildings of the government schools would be renovated and furniture, library, neat and clean toilets would be provided under the Nadu-Nedu scheme.
