Jagan gives Rs 400 cr to executive capital!
Visakhapatnam has already been accepted as the executive capital of the State, though an official statement is yet to come. The State Cabinet has to discuss the recommendations of the retired IAS officer, G N Rao-headed expert committee report and give its approval.
The celebrations have already started in Visakhapatnam with people and politicians welcoming the proposal. The opposition TDP is facing the negative results and it is likely that some of the leaders from the north Andhra districts would leave the party in favour of the executive capital awarded to this city. Majority, including politicians, believe that the Uttarandhra region would get a boost with executive capital in Visakhapatnam.
Now, as the State Cabinet is scheduled to discuss the proposal of the three capitals on Friday, the government had given a gift of Rs 400 crore to the people of Visakhapatnam on Thursday. The government had issued Orders (GO) giving sanction for the money for various works in Visakhapatnam.
The government had sanctioned Rs 90 crore for Chukkavanipalem road, Rs 88 crore for museum and research centre, Rs 80 crore for commercial complex with multi-level parking, Rs 75 crore for beach road, Rs 40 crore for tourism complex and parking on beach road, Rs 37 crore for Kailasagiri planetarium and Rs 23 crore for bio-mining process plant.
It is likely that the visit of the Chief Minister to Visakhapatnam on Saturday is likely to have some political significance with the announcement of the executive capital for this port city.
