House sited to be distributed by Christmas.
After so many hick-ups and hurdles, finally the AP government has decided to distribute house sites to the beneficiaries by Christmas.
In a video conference with all the district collectors on Wednesday, the chief minister announced that the house sites distribution programme will take place on December 25, coinciding with Christmas. The government planned to distribute 30.68 Lakhs of sites to weaker sections by Ugadi this year but Corona pandemic has stalled this program and later the court cases have been obstructing the scheme.
The TDP supporters have approached the courts and got stay orders in this regard. But finally the CM Jagan Mohan reddy decided to clear the house sites, which have no objections and litigations by 25 December.
Jagan decided that except in those areas where the distribution of house sites is in court litigations, the scheme will be implemented in all other parts of the state.
On Wednesday in a video conference attended by all collectors, Jagan Instructed the collectors to make arrangements for the distribution of house sites to the landless poor in all the areas, except in the areas where the scheme is stayed by the courts, such as lands assigned to schools, colleges and universities and other disputed lands.
As of now, the high court had stayed the distribution of house sites in Amaravati capital region and also cancelled the programme in marsh lands which would get submerged in Godavari waters when there are floods.
Actually 30.68 lakh beneficiaries had been identified for the scheme from all the districts in the state, but now 15 lakh house sites likely to be distributed among the poor on December 25 in the first phase.
