Guntur MLA gives shock to Naidu
Guntur West Assembly constituency MLA Maddali Giridhar gave a rude shock to TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu on Monday by meeting chief minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and extending his support to the government.
Giridhar is the second MLA from the TDP to meet the chief minister and extend his support to the government programmes. The first MLA was Vallabhaneni Vamsi from Gannavaram constituency in Krishna district. The Guntur MLA’s meeting with Jagan comes at a time when the TDP is planning for a state wide protest against the government’s proposal to shift executive capital from Amaravati.
The MLA gave an assurance to the farmers claiming that Jaganmohan Reddy had greater plans and a clear vision for development of Amaravati. He also welcomed English medium in the government schools and found fault with Chandrababu Naidu for opposing the move. The TDP MLA claimed that his constituency required immediate attention of the government and his meeting with the chief minister had helped him secure Rs 25 crore funds from the government. The TDP is set to lose more MLAs, particularly those from the north coastal districts after the government gave clarity on establishing executive capital for Visakhapatnam.
