Complete Polavaram Spillway works by June, Jagan tells officials
After losing one valuable month’s time due to COVID-19, work on Polavaram is picking up with transport facilities resuming and aiming to complete the spillway works by the end of June. In regard to this, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials to clear up the hurdles in the availability of cement and iron for the construction works.
In a discussion with the officials of water resources on Wednesday, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to focus on the construction of Avuku tunnel-2, Valigonda project, Nellore Barrage, Sangam Barrage, and Vamsadhara-Nagavali river interlinking project and complete them by 2020. In addition to these, the Chief Minister told officials to speed up the design approvals of the project and develop constructive plans for every work associated with the projects.
During the review meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted the Godavari floods and asked the officials to rehabilitate all the families in the submerged region.
Minister for Water Resources, Anil Kumar Yadav, Special Chief Secretary Adithyanath Das and other officials took part in the review meeting.
