Buggana meets Nirmala Seetharaman
The government of Andhrapradesh is seeking huge financial support from the union government as the state government is implementing numerous welfare, and development works. As of now, the state government is facing financial crisis due to lock down and all the income sources are blocked. Income from commercial taxes, stamps and registration tax has drastically fall down. Anyhow, now the state government has started its trials to get funds from the center.
On Friday, finance minister BugganaRajendranath Reddy, Government’s chief advisor AjeyaKallam, special chief secretary S.S.Rawat and special chief secretary Adityanath Das also went to Delhi along with Rajendranath Reddy.
Buggana later spoke to media and said he had requested the Union finance minister to release funds for Polavaram project, backward areas development and for schemes mentioned in AP Reorganization Act, besides arrears of Public Distribution system and GST. “We asked the center to sanction additional funds to the state as promised in the Reorganization Act. The Center has to reimburse Rs 3,500 crore towards expenditure incurred on Polavaram project, besides releasing GST dues of another Rs 3,500 crore. He said that that the state’s revenue had slashed by by 40 per cent in the past few months.’ He said.
