You're Blaming Me: Ilaiyaraaja - Nostalgia

Music is inseparable from our lives. We have several forms of music, film music is one of them. And of course, Ilaiyaraaja is one of the top music directors. Going into the details, Maestro Ilaiyaraaja Music Concert was held in New Jersey, the USA in 2013. Ilaiyaraaja songs are very popular among music lovers. So, there is no exaggeration in saying that music lovers are emotionally attached to his songs.  Before the live performance of Lalitha Priya Kamalam song by SP Balasubramanyam and Chitra, host Mano gave a superb introduction.

He said, "A doctor settled here in the USA have shared me about his love story. The doctor and his wife's love story went on for a period of six months. He said the reason for their love is an Ilaiyaraja's song.  There were no mobile phones in those days.  The doctor telephoned her and sang the first two lines of the song.  Three months later, she reciprocated him by singing the next two lines of the same song.  They fell in love with each other and the relationship ultimately ended in marriage."

Mano added, "The doctor's family settled in the USA and they have attended this program now.  He is very much eager to meet Ilaiyaraaja sir. He said he has been waiting for the Ilaiyaraaja sir program for a long time."

Ilaiyaraaja gave a quirky response with a smile on his face, "Some people fall in love and got married. You are blaming me for that Mano.  What is this? Is it fair?" Needless to say, the whole auditorium burst into huge laughter.

Mano concluded, "The doctor's intention was you have given some great music which emotionally connects to everybody."   In the doctor's case, it acted as a bridge between him and his wife.
