Akhil In Nagarjuna's "Chaitanya" Remake
Remixing the chartbuster songs of yesteryears is a common phenomenon in the industry. The remix trend is continuing even now. We have seen 'Velluvochi Godaramma' song remixed for Varun Tej's "Gaddalakonda Ganesh' movie. Not just song remixes but remaking yesteryear super hit films also catching up with the Tollywood filmmakers. Rather than just copying the film, the makers doing some changes in the remake to suit the present generation audience.
We have seen Trivikram successfully adopting this formula and scored hits. It is known that 'A Aa' is a rehash of 'Meena'; and, Ala Vaikunthapuramulo' is a rehash of 'Inti Guttu'. Both of them turned out to be super hits and minted money at the BO. Considering the success formula, several other filmmakers are toying up with the same idea for their new projects.
There is a discussion going on in the social media that Akkineni Nagarjuna's film 'Chaitanya' suits his son Akhil. 'Chaitanya' was road movie, an action thriller which was released in 1991. Netizens are of the opinion that the story was way ahead of its times and it suits the present generation more. They say that the gripping narration will impress this generation youth.
When the filmmakers are working on a new story, the time and resources they invest are huge. Sometimes the makers spend 6 months to one year for the story. When it comes to this kind of remake/rehash films the makers save lot of time and money. The makers have a chance to improve the original story to suit the taste of the audience. The stories will have good depth as well. We have to wait and see if Akhil considers this film or not.
